Artist's Comments...Shouldn't violets be purple? XD! I felt like making a picture of Rosier 'Rose' Zelcis, she's Ginto's Momma and Valac's wife. She looks great for a Grandmother, aging gracefully ;D She's probably the only person that Ginto loves (aside from Kina and his kids), he would do anything for her. He doesn't have a very good relationship with his Father :c, the only thing his Papa bothered teaching him was how to swordfight, Rose taught him everything else. lol you guys should know that they don't like each other if you've been reading the novel ;D I'm gonna draw Valac next I think XD Rosier 'Rose' Zelcis © =Doksuri Comments

Critiques
I can tell that you dedicated a lot of time and effort to this. The hair is very carefully detailed, and the use of background stamps/textures was well thought-out. You also tried to do a fairly realistic face, which I always like ( :3 ). Her expression is appropriately satisfied and peaceful.
LIGHTING
The lighting in this image is very inconsistent. In most places it appears to be coming from the top right of the image, but the hair doesn't really support this - more notably, the hand suggests a light source from the lower right of the image, maybe a little to the front of the subject - not in addition to the existing light source, but contrary to. It is like the light at the top right of the image just doesn't exist as far as that hand is concerned. You also chose to use a very dull color (white, generally a no-no) as a highlight, and a dull color for shadows (looks like you just added black to the midtones to create shadows). This makes sense intuitively, but is not the case in reality. Colors saturate towards a light source, and desaturate away from a light source. More pink and yellow tones would help 'sell' the viewer on the subject's skin. Also be aware that greens and blues are not entirely unheard of in the skintones of very light people.
ANATOMY
It isn't awful. You have what seems to be a pretty solid understanding of the proportions of the face, though you may not have refined your skills to the point of making those bumps and curves seem three-dimensional. For a somewhat realistic look, see what it looks like if you don't make the eyes quite so wide.
The lips are defined too much at the edges, and seem flat. Draw lips, not the universally accepted cartooning symbol for lips.
Also study the shape of the nose - noses are really hard, yes! But they are an integral part of the face, and a wrong nose can really throw off an otherwise good face. She looks like she has a sort of... flat bony protrusion running down the center of her face that has two little holes pointing straight down at the bottom. While the shape itself seems wrong (most noses indent just a bit right below the brow ridge, and the way you lit the nose makes it look like the columnella of the nose ([link]) is actually protruding forward from under the entire structure), better lighting would also help to define the nose. Remember that the nose casts a shadow. Remember that everything casts a shadow.
Greater contrast would also help. The difference between lights and darks in this image is very narrow. Metallic objects in the picture do not look metallic. Metallic objects in particular reflect the objects around them.
You put tremendous amount of effort on how you did her gorgeous wavy gray hair and her beautiful face. Speaking of her face I really love how you did her green eyes and her lips. The tattoo markings on the left side of her face looks wonderful!
As for her body you drew the shoulder part of her anatomy very well as well as the detailing of her dress. I like the design of the bracelet and the tattoo markings on her right hand. Lastly, the beaded necklace surrounding her neck looks gorgeous too.
You put so much hard work on how well you did this drawing and I like how it turned out overall.
Your entire gallery is really incredible, =Doksuri! Keep up the great work!
